I would not recommend eating here. Holes in the chairs, food was palatable. I will not be back.

Excellent value with a large variety of meats, fish, southern style sides, fresh salad bar, and desserts. I may be somewhat bias since I know a few of the very hard working employees on a first name basis. This is a large volume operation and they do exceedingly well in most categories while keeping the prices as low as possible. Most will find it enjoyable and worth the money. Many repeat customers and familiar faces - always a plus!

I came to eat here for the first time the night before. I am from out of town visiting with my husband and 1 year old daughter. I rated five stars last night. I was in love. It was the best food I had in very long time. I went back bragging to my family and friends that they should come and eat here. On our way home today I wanted to stop by and eat there one more time, I had such a great experience. Google said that they closed at 9:00 we arrived at 8:00 and was turned away at the register by the manager. An older couple in front of us were turned away as well. We were told to fix to go plates. Obviously disappointed that my family and I now had to eat in the car, to top it off the food was cold! Two totally different experiences in two days but after the second time I don't know if I would want to come back. I definitely need to update everyone I told yesterday about my good experience, that I had a not so good one the very next day.

Been here a couple of times. First time was really good when they first opened. Started going down hill from there. Some of the Food was dried out. Meat loaf burnt. The price is about the same as other buffets. The service was good.

This is now my favorite place for dinning. I was traveling south on 95 stopped at a campground and the owner suggested that I try it out. What a great surprise. Loved it, wish they were in Myrtle Beach!

Found this gem by accident and drove 40 miles to come back for more. Great buffet. Down home southern country food. HUGE variety. Everything made fresh and is very flavorful. Delishious cobblers, cakes, cookies, ice cream, and ice cream sandwiches. Green beans so good my 6 year old ate all of them from her plate. 4 hours later and I'm still full. We will be back.

AMAZING! We came to Smithfield to look at cars on 7/25/20 all the way from Cary,NC and we wanted some soul food . We came across this place and can you say AMAZING . One of the guys fixing my boyfriend plate asked was it our first time and told us we wouldn’t regret it ( We got takeout since we had to get back on the road ) . The guy at the front with the glasses was very sweet and nice . The food was beyond delicious. I don’t eat nobody potato salad except my grandma but this here was AMAZING . We will be back . Thank you for the great service and meal ( our food was still warm once we got home an hour away ).

This is definitely a family restaurant I have to say it’s every bit of five stores. The freshest largest amount of country cooking I’ve ever seen everything was fresh everything was mouthwatering delicious everyone who passes North Carolina needs to stop here. Definitely homemade country Cookin I couldn’t think of nothing else that they could put on the bar that wasn’t there everything you could imagine and homemade desserts. The waitresses and waiters wore the blue JeanOveralls. We will definitely go there again and hope you stop and try it. Guarantee you won’t be disappointed.

I like grandson restaurant here in Smithfield North Carolina. I live in Raleigh North Carolina there's one in Garner NC but I prefer the one in Smithfield. Those people act like they know how to cook, good recommendation for place to eat.

The employees were fantastic and very friendly and really helpful. Our waitress was amazing. She kept checking on us every few minutes, made sure our table stayed clean, and our drinks never got less than half full. The food was absolutely delicious and the price of the buffet was very well priced for the quality you get it was definitely worth it. I would most certainly recommend this restaurant to everyone, I only eish I lived closer so I could eat here more often.

Lots of food bars & food choices. They have everything from seafood to BBQ to fried chicken. Lots of vegetable choices, bread choices, salad bar and lots of desserts including an ice cream freezer full of choices. Go see them some time.

I’m very disappointed in the food I haven’t been here in a year and the last Time I was here It was very delicious but this time it was not y’all can do better

This is a great buffet for the price. However, It's always too cold in this restaurant for my taste. I've learned to bring a coat. The apple pie is made perfectly. The fried chicken is the best I've ever had: crispy on the outside and very moist on the inside. Good peanut butter cookies. Good green beans. Excellent shredded pork. Excellent steamed rolls. No one should go away unsatisfied with the selection.

The food is really good! The staff is very nice and friendly. I absolutely love the peach cobbler!

Stumbled upon this restaurant! So glad we did! From the moment we walked in the door, we were happy! Friendly employees. 8 full buffet lines. With all the veggies and entrees you could ask for. Country food. Seafood. Delicious mac and cheese. Bbq. Even soul food. Dessert bar was good. I loved they cut pie in slivers. Gives you room to sample several! We will go back.

Food was good but not as good as what friends have told me. Obviously buffet is no longer a thing but they've done a good job with having their people serve cafeteria style and yet keep it unlimited like buffets used to be. Deserts were sliced nice n small and prepackaged so we could try more than 1. Waitresses keep it very clean in between tables and wipe everything down well between people leaving and entering.

This is the best place to eat. Great food and service. It's worth the 100 miles 😊

Good comfort food. Much better taste quality than its similar larger almost identical twin chain that didn't pay me to endorse so I will just call it Bolden Horral.

Plenty of good food. Dessert area sort of iffy. Overall a decent place to eat. I'd do it again.

A great restaurant to take your whole family.

I liked the coveralls and Grandma was adorable. The Chicken salad was perfection. (Need to sell chicken salad sliders; yum-yum) The Trotters needed salt otherwise good. So much to choose from have to go back again!!! I give this joint 3 good burps and a sigh.

This was our first time here today. We live in Fayetteville and I must say, this Grandsons has both of the ones in Fayetteville beat!!!! Food was fresh and well seasoned. Employees were nice and efficient. We will definitely be back!

1st visit ever on 7/20/19. Found a good variety of foods on the buffet, everything I ate was good. Service, although very busy, was good and the prices were reasonable. My party of 6 had no complaints at all. Thoroughly enjoyed it and plan to return when in the area.

Was bot inside when we eat. Like the A/C was not working. Food was good though.

Came down from Pa. to visit family over xmas holiday and we stopped by for dinner. It was fantastic. The food was amazing. And the staff were awesome. Highly recommend.

The Food was amazing. This is my favorite place to get home cooked southern food like grandma use to make. With the covid pandemic going on and all the safety precautions businesses are having to take I think they did an amazing job. They have to do cafeteria style where you go thru the buffet line and tell them what you want. If your familiar with K&W, grandsons is doing there service like K&W

Some items are good, some are always gone before you get a chance to get any. Bland. Last time I went I wanted pecan pie which is the best dessert they offer besides ice cream but there wasn't even a place for it any more. They are diabetic friendly though with sugar free desserts and salt less food.

Very good selection of food. Friendly employees. Friday dinner buffet with all you can eat oysters. Oysters are not too friend, medium cooked, which is a plus for me. Minus- sometimes it's too hot in there.

Typical southern buffet. Staff was pleasant and kind. Wide variety of food which was really good, but not knock-your-socks-off amazing. I would definitely go again!

This was my first experience eat at Grandsons and it was awesome! They had every type of vegetables and meats. The only I didn't see was steak and tenderloin but we eat that stuff often so I was happy to have other types of meats. Grandsons have something for every type of eater! The homemade cakes were awesome!! The fruit and salad bar was awesome!! The had one of the top two sweet tea I have ever had!! I am from Alabama and when I say its really hard to impress me when I eat soul food. Grandsons get a 10!! My husband ate two plates and normally he picks over his food when we go out. We agreed the next time we can not figure out what we want for dinner Grandsons will be our to go to place!

Grandsons reopened and is a welcome sight. The new procedure for the buffet seemed to work well although the signage/marking for the flow of patrons could be a little better. Our wait person was fabulous and made sure we knew how the new process worked! Well done Grandsons.

The food was good. The service was good. The dessert portions were very small. Like wafer portions of slices of cakes and pies. Some things were seasoned with sugar 🙁

Really good food! I didn't try everything but enough to know I liked it. I expect everything at a place like this to taste salty because it is country cooking. Actually the food was great. Pintos were my fav. Salad bar was good. Waiters and staff were all so polite. This was an excellent Friday lunch visit.

Our first visit was amazing! The food is delicious and everything was perfect. Our sever was so kind and made sure our drinks were full. Will definitely return soon. Thx!

We was first introduced to Grandsons Buffet by checking it out on Google maps, but when we went there we were very impressed on the quality of how close to home cooking it was, we enjoyed the Grandsons in Smithfield and Rocky Mount and will Keep coming back.

I really enjoy this location! Their food taste just like you went home to a families Sunday dinner. Extremely clean and always hot food that looks fresh every single minute. The staff are super friendly and eager to please...to make sure your stay is pleasant.

This place can get very busy on Sundays and Fridays. The food is great for a buffet and at lunch you really can get your money's worth. Much better than a Golden Corral.

It was good as usual just weird during these times not to be able to serve yourself. The price is still the same $15 with a drink. Should be lower during these times not the same experience. But love this place regardless.

Delicious! More than enough variety for anyone. Can't wait to go back.

We went here also after going to the one in Rocky Mount and again the food was excellent and the environment was comfortable, I you want a down home meal, this is the place, I am a country boy and I know what Gradmas cooking is like and this worth a visit.
